■ Abstract : Alzheimer’s disease (AD) constitutes one of the
severethreats to public health in an aging society. In spite of neuroimaging
analysis
method give a good information for medical verification, it is not suitable to AD early diagnosis due to some limitations such as accessibility and high cost. Therefore, effective method for AD early diagnosis have been developing. One of the strong candidate biomarkers, beta-amyloid (Aβ), have a spotlight as AD biomarker which can detectAD in early stage. Recently, important fact for blood-based AD diagnosis came out into the open that amount of beta-amyloid (Aβ) in blood is closely related with it in the brain. Because the concentration range of Aβ in blood is extremely low level of pg/mL, development of highly sensitive sensor platform strongly demanded. We have been developing the micro/nano-biosensors to detect the Aβ in blood. By monitoring the output signal (impedance and/or resistance) change of fabricated micro/nano-biosensors, we could detect Aβ protein in plasma. In order to verify performance of developed micro/nano-biosensors, we used plasma of AD transgenic and wild type mouse. Moreover, we are trying the quantitative Aβ detection in human plasma using plasma sample of AD patient and normal people verified by neuroimaging analysis. The results show our micro/nano-biosensors can be usefully utilized for AD early diagnosis.
