    Prof. Duk Yong Yoon served as President of KAIST.

    Three Materials departments were merged into Dept. of MSE

  • 1991~1994

    Commencement of first class of undergraduate students was held.

    Dept. of MSE was divided into Dept. of Materials, Dept. of Ceramic Materials, and Dept. of Electronic Materials.

    Commencement of first class of undergraduate students was held.

1970~1989

The Beginning of Korean Science

  • 1981

    Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST) was founded and merged with Korea Institute of Science and Technology (KIST)

  • 1975

    First class of doctoral program students enrolled.

  • 1973

    First class of master program students enrolled.

  • 1972

    Prof. Duk Yong Yoon was appointed as the first full-time professor.

  • 1971

    Korea Advanced Institute of Science (KAIS) was founded in Seoul (Hong-reung campus)
