Prof. Sang Ouk Kim received the “Scientist of the Month Award" in June 2014 for innovatively devising a fundamental technological method to control the properties of carbon-based materials in a free fashion. After a while Prof. Kim got recognition for his research on the control of various shape of ultra-fine nanostructures using molecular assembly with soft materials, such as polymers and carbon nanomaterials, and was typically praised about his contribution to the growth of nanoscience field in Korea. As for the acknowledgement, Prof. Sang Ouk Kim received the 2014 Prime Minister Award, the grand prize from the Korean government. The award ceremony was held on July 2nd 2014 at Coex in Seoul.
