On February 13 (Tue.), Prof. Chan Beum Park donated 10 million KRW to the MRL KAIST New Building Fund in a meeting held in the Juheul Conference Room.

Our department held the 'Safety Guardian Award' ceremony on Wednesday, 20 December 2023 at 10:00 am in the Juheul Conference Room.
The Safety Guardian Award is given to members who have significantly contributed to safety of the department and laboratory.
This year's winners were Aditi Saha (Ph.D. candidate in Prof. Seungbeom Hong's lab) and Hyunseung Kim (Ph.D. candidate in Prof. Woochul Jung's lab).

Prof. Seungbum Hong was awarded the "International Cooperation Prize" in the category of "Internationally Cooperated Outstanding Faculty" at the 53rd Founding Anniversary of our university.

On November 9, 2023, The “Outstanding Scientist Award” was held at the opening ceremony of the Korea Science Technology & Fair 2023.
At this ceremony, Prof. Jiheong Kang was selected as the winner of this year's 'Young Scientist Award'. This is a presidential award given to scientists under 40 who have created outstanding achievements.

The 4th KAIST Emerging Materials Symposium was held at Chung Kunmo Conference Hall of Academic Cultural Complex on November 15, 2023.

Prof. Changhwan Lee has joined the faculty as an assistant professor from March 1, 2024. He majored in Nano-optics, Upconverting Nanomaterials, and Super-resolution imaging.

Ms. Hyejin Oh was awarded the Contribution Award for her significant contribution during the 53rd-anniversary ceremony of our university.

Hyunju Lee has joined our department as a staff member from January 22, 2024. She is in charge of business trips/promotion of our department.
