5. 발표내용요약(Abstract)

Alantum is a global leader in alloy foam technology, producing annually ~3M m2 of pure metal foams in China, and ~0.5M m2 of alloy foams in Korea under the Alantum’s patented powder metallurgical process. In addition, Alantum's core competences include research and development. Alantum has been collaborating with a number of global research organizations and academia, such as the Fraunhofer Institute (IFAM) in Germany, Bath University in UK, Korea Institute of Materials Science (KIMS) and universities in Korea on the characterization, performance enhancement and cost reduction of metal and alloy foams. Alantum's high-quality alloy foams possess perfectly open and connected pores providing a high surface area. The flow of fluid media (gas or liquid) through such 3-D tortuous path is well-characterized in terms of pressure drop and mixing behavior. By adapting various pore size (450~3,000μm) and the alloy composition, the Alantum foams can be matched to clients’ requirements such as corrosion resistance and high temperature stability. Alantum draws on the power of alloy foams to translate the discoveries from the 3 business segments, i) Clean Air Technology, ii) Chemical Process Technology, and iii) Special Products including the use of alloy foam in fuel cells and energy storage system. This presentation also illustrates a variety of Alantum’s unique market-leading innovative applications in the 3 segments described above.
