Report for visiting to ‘LG Display’ and ‘ Heyri Town’ of Department of Materials Science and Engineering

Department of Materials Science and Engineering visited LG Display as “Company Visiting Workshop” on November 4th, 2016. (SK Hynix in 2015). Many of our department’s students showed interested in Display business, which is deeply related to materials science and engineering. The difference between visiting workshop of 2016 and that of 2015 is that the number of participants increased including other department’s student, with support of the company. As a result, about 45 materials science and engineering department’s student and 25 of other department’s student participated(Total 70 students).

The participants made two groups, and watched display producing process. The participants were intrigued by the large land site, welfare system, and technology of LG Display. After the visiting to LG Display, the participants went to Heyri Town, which is the tourist attraction in Paju city, where they enjoyed the view and took some rest. Although it took 3 hours from Daejeon to Paju, 65.7% of 35 participants answered that the visiting was valuable experience.
